Amplitude Acoustics where engaged to provide full acoustic design to achieve appropriate levels of sound isolation, good speech communication and privacy to LEED Gold Status requirements for acoustic comfort.
Key issues:
The USGBC LEED credits for acoustic comfort was a primary consideration in the acoustic design on this project, as well as good speech communication and privacy required in open plan customer care offices. This required the acoustic design of high performance glazed partitions, reverberation control of open plan spaces and good layout design.
Project Description:
This c.5,400m2 development consisted of a 3 storey, open plan Customer Care Office Building for Irish Life Assurance Company at the IDA’s Finnabair Business Park just south of Dundalk, Co. Louth. The office has successfully been awarded LEED Gold status in January 2020 by the United States Green Building Council, with credits for acoustic comfort.
