Services:
Environmental Noise Impact Assessment including operational and baseline noise modelling, noise prediction modelling, stakeholder consultations.
Key issues:
Noise Impact Assessment of an Existing Windfarm using best practice. Coordination of long term noise monitoring, extensive data analysis and reporting to ESTU-R-97 and the IOA Good Practice Guide for Windfarm Noise.
The assessment included analysis of special audible characteristics including:
- Tonality
- Amplitude Modulation
- Low Frequency Noise.
Project Description:
Amplitude Acoustics completed operational noise assessment and EIAR noise chapter an existing 11.9 megawatt (MW) 14 no. turbine windfarm in Co. Wexford. As an existing field with finite planning approval it was required to submit for a new planning approval to extend its operating life. Amplitude were engaged to assess the noise impact of the site in accordance with best practice, include presentation to the planning authority of our methodology for agreement prior to submission.
