Services:

Amplitude Acoustics where engaged to provide full acoustic design to achieve appropriate levels of sound isolation, good speech communication, and privacy to LEED Gold Status requirements for acoustic comfort.

Key issues:

The USGBC LEED credits for acoustic comfort were a primary consideration in the acoustic design on this project, as well as good speech communication and privacy required in open-plan customer care offices. This required the acoustic design of high-performance glazed partitions, reverberation control of open-plan spaces, and good layout design. An exhibition space and cinema were also part of the project, requiring acoustic modelling to ensure low reverberation times and high acoustic quality in these spaces.

Project Description:

This c.3005 m2 development consists of a six-storey over basement mixed-use development consisting of exhibition areas, multipurpose conference space, education spaces, meeting rooms, open-plan office accommodation, plant rooms, and a café. The building is the new European Union Liaison Office in Dublin. The office has successfully been awarded LEED gold status in November 2024, with credit awarded for Acoustic performance.
